# Feature Adoption Template: Track New Feature Usage

> The Feature Adoption template in Klaritics helps you track how new features are adopted after release with pre-built adoption and engagement widgets.

The Feature Adoption template is designed for product teams shipping new capabilities. It gives you a focused dashboard to measure how quickly users discover, try, and continue using a new feature after launch.

## What is included

This template creates a dashboard with widgets tailored to adoption tracking:

* **First-time usage** showing how many users tried the feature for the first time each day.
* **Adoption rate** as a percentage of your active user base.
* **Repeat usage** to see if users come back after their first try.
* **Trend comparison** against previous feature launches or baseline behavior.

## When to use it

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Post-launch tracking" icon="rocket">
    Apply this template immediately after a feature release to monitor uptake.
  </Card>

  <Card title="A/B rollout validation" icon="split">
    Compare adoption between segments or rollout groups.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Feature retirement decisions" icon="trash">
    Use repeat usage trends to decide whether a feature is worth maintaining.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Marketing alignment" icon="megaphone">
    Share adoption metrics with marketing to measure campaign impact.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Customizing the template

After applying the template, map the widgets to the specific events that represent your new feature. You can also add [Cohorts](/analysis/cohorts) to compare adoption across user segments, or set up [Alerts](/alerts/overview) to notify you when adoption crosses a threshold.
