When to use metric widgets
Use metric widgets when you want to:- Highlight a top-line KPI that the whole team watches
- Track a target number against a goal or benchmark
- Give executives and stakeholders a quick health check
How metric widgets work
A metric widget is created by pinning a single-value result from an analysis. The value can come from a count, a ratio, an average, or any other aggregation you define in the underlying analysis. The widget updates automatically when the analysis refreshes.Pin a metric widget
1
Create the analysis
Build an analysis that returns a single aggregated value, such as a total count or a computed ratio.
2
Pin to dashboard
Click Pin to Dashboard and choose the dashboard where the metric should appear.
3
Position prominently
Place the metric widget at the top of the dashboard or in a large tile so it is the first thing viewers see.
Metric widgets work best when paired with chart widgets that show the same metric over time. The metric gives the current value; the chart shows the trend.
