When to use Impact Analysis
Use Impact Analysis when you want to:- Validate whether a feature launch or campaign changed a downstream metric
- Compare conversion or retention between users who took an action and those who did not
- Prioritize initiatives by their measured effect on key outcomes
Build an impact analysis
1
Choose the cause event
Select the event that represents the behavior you want to evaluate, such as enabling a setting or completing an onboarding step.
2
Choose the effect event
Select the downstream outcome you care about, such as a purchase, renewal, or return visit.
3
Set the observation window
Define how long after the cause event you want to measure the effect. A longer window captures delayed outcomes but may include unrelated activity.
4
Review the comparison
Klaritics shows the rate of the effect event for users who performed the cause versus those who did not. Use this to judge whether the cause genuinely moves the outcome.
